Scratch - 31/08/2008

As with the Handicap League match, the scratch team were knocked out at the semi-final stage as well. They went down 4-0 away to Church Stretton to lose 4.5-3.5 overall.   

Handicap League - 30/08/2008

Worfield were knocked out in the semi-final. We went down 5-1 away to Telford. This gave an aggregate score of 6-6 and the tie was decided on holes won with Telford going through 18-16. It was a great disappoinment however we can be proud of what we have achieved this year and hopefully use this as a springboard for next year's competition.

Handicap League - 23/08/2008

This was the semi final first leg, at home to Telford. The team achieved a magnificent result winning 5-1. This will put us in an excellent position going into the away leg on Sat 30th. Congratulations to all involved.

Scratch - 11/08/2008

Congratulations to the scratch team on their outstanding victory, 3.5- 0.5, in the first leg of their semi-final at home against Church Stretton. Good luck in the away leg on Sun 31st August. 

Handicap League - 30/07/2008

Worfield will play Telford in the semi-finals, home leg Sat 23rd August, away leg Sat 30th August. 

Handicap League - 20/07/2008

With Worfield requiring at least a 4-2 victory to progress to the semi-finals (for only the second time in the club's history), this was going to be a tense afternoon and so it proved. At the 9-hole stage, we looked in a good position, up in 4, down in 1 and all sqaure in the other but we were only up by 1 in two of the matches so they could still go either way. P. Cates and M. Foster led from the front with a superb win on the 18th hole in the opening match. D. O'Connor and B. Allen followed them in with a 3 & 2 win. M. Chamberlain and G. Jervis lost 3 & 2 but B. Rolls and J. Powers had a comfortable win. With 3 points in the bag, we only needed 1 from the last 2 matches. R. McWilliams & J. Greensill went down 2 & 1 so it was left to the last pair of M. Holdnall and N. Holden. It was a bit tense on the patio when we could see the group on the 18th tee with Worfield having the honour. There was much debate about whether the match was live or not. It turns out it wasn't with Worfield having already won the match 4 & 3 to secure that semi-final berth.      

Handicap League - 13/07/2008

This was the quarter final first leg, away to Bridgnorth. The team achieved a magnificent result away from home, going down 3.5 - 2.5. This will put us in an excellent position going into the home leg next week. Congratulations to all involved.

Friendly - Burghill Valley 12/07/2008

Once again, we were made very welcome at Burghill. The course was in excellent condition and we managed a creditable 4-4 draw.

Scratch - 07/07/2008

Congratulations to the scratch team on their qualification for the semi-finals of the scratch league. This was achieved with a 3-1 home victory against Shifnal. This follows up wins against Telford, home and away, and a home win and an away draw against Ludlow. Good luck in the next round. 

Club Championships - 2008

Congratulations to Phil Cates and Arran Daniel. Phil retained the Club Championship and the Handicap Championship. Arran won the Junior Chanpionship. For more information, click on the NEWS button.  

Handicap League - 01/07/2008

Bridgnorth have been confirmed as Worfield's opponents in the quarter finals. The first leg is away on 13th July with the home leg on 20th July. 

Handicap League - 28/06/2008

The team completed their group matches with a 4-2 win away to Belmont.

An excelllent win at home against a strong Ludlow side, 2.5 - 1.5.

Juniors - 12/06/2008

The team lost at home to Bridgnorth 4-2, they have to rely on results going their way in order to progress from their group. 

Juniors - 09/06/2008

The team went down 5-1 away to Arscott in a handicap League match. It's all down to the final match with Bridgnorth at home on Friday.
