Triangular (24/07/2010)

The first leg was held at Telford, Worfield have made a steady start and the scores are Telford 554, Patshull 568 and Worfield 569.    

Past Captains Trophy (10/07/2010)

This was played in a Bogey format this year with Phil White making it a family double for the weekend with a winning score of 9up and obliterating the rest of the field. There were 6 scores of 3up with countback sorting out the rest of the results, 2nd place went to Will Weaver, 3rd place to Tony Clements and 4th to Jim Edmiston.

An excellent day was rounded off with the Captains being joined by their partners for an evening of good food and good company.

Ladies Club Championships (10-11/07/2010)

A small, but determined, field entered this years championships in an attempt to wrestle Helen White's crown away from her. As in previous years, where many have tried and all have failed, it was the same this year as Helen put in a champions performance to retain her crown as Club Champion with scores of 75-80 for a 155 total. Congratulations to Brenda Hayter for winning the Handicap Championship by 1 shot in a closely fought battle.  

Captains Charity Day (08/07/2010)

14 teams took part in this years Captains Charity Day and although this was down on last years numbers, it did mean that we all ate together and made the presentation a little easier. We raised in excess of £1000 on the day. Both of the Captains would like to thank everyone who took part and all of those people that helped on the day. Click on the link for the results.   

Club Championships (03-04/07/2010) 

This years championships were played over two very contrasting days. Saturdays weather was quite benign which led to some very good scoring however Sunday brought a very strong wind and much more difficult conditions. This could be measured by the 5 shot difference in the lowest score on each of the days. Congratulations to Simon Lewis in the scratch, Ian Jones in the Handicap and Steve North in the Juniors. Full results can be found on Master Scoreboard, a link is available in the Competitions tab.    

Lady Captains Day (27/06/2010)

Lady Captain would like to thank all of the Ladies that showed their support on her day along with her helpers, both the members and family and friends. She was also thankful to have glorious sunshine which does make the day go more easily. She hopes the Ladies enjoyed the evening entertainment as much as she did.       

Captains Day (13/06/2010)

The Captain would like to thank all of the members that joined him on his day, a fantastic turn-out  of 152 players. This, once again, proves what a brilliant and supportive membership we have here at Worfield. It was a shame that the weather spoilt the afternoon round although many persevered and some even managed to produce winning scores. The Captain would also like to thank everyone for donating so generously towards his charity with the raffle and the 3rd hole challenge raising in excess of £800. A final thank you goes to the Ladies who worked so hard.

Handicap League (12/06/2010)

Worfield bowed out of this year's Handicap League after losing their final match 5.5-0.5 away to Bridgnorth. We needed to pick up 2 points to go through. Many thanks to those members that represented the Worfield in this year's competition. 

Mixed Closed (31/05/2010)

Congratulations to John Clarke and Cherry Jones on winning the Closed Mixed. It was very competitive and there was some excellent scoring. Full results;

The unique thing about this competition is you are not allowed to have the same partner in two consecutive years so make sure you grab your partner for next year early.

Handicap League (Sun 9th May)

Worfield enjoyed a victory by the smallest of margins, 3.5-2.5, against our close rivals Bridgnorth. With the group stages this year comprising of just 3 teams, it is very important to win your home matches. I think our group will go down to the wire. Well done to all those members who represented the club.

Captains Invitational (11-12 April)

This years competitiion was held at Breadsall Priory and Notts Golf Club. Congratulations go to Jamie Lawrence on winning the Captains Trophy with a 2 day score of 68 points on countback from Stuart Herrity. Full details of all the winners are available from the link below.

 PGA Pro-Am Qualifier (Sun 4th April)

Congratulations to John Avey on qualifying to partner Nick in the regional final.

Mixed Open (Wed 31st March)

An excellent turn-out of 56 teams, in very difficult conditions. 

Winning scores were 

Best Gross - C. Mawby & S. Mawby (Herefordshire) - 82

4th place - A. Jones & C. Jones (Worfield) 35 pts (Back 6 - 11pts)

3rd place - S. Lloyd & K. Lloyd (Bewdley Pines) 36 pts

2nd place - A. Sennett & M. Sennett (Worfield) 37 pts

1st place - C. Whitton & N. Whitton (Sandwell Park/Aston Wood) 44 pts   

Junior Triangular 2nd Leg (Sun 28th March)

The team played well to come second at Bridgnorth. the best score on the day was by Ryan Keegan (Worfield), dropping just 3 shots on the back 9, and coming in with 43 points off the whites.  Well done Ryan and well done team.

Seniors Away Day (Tue 4th May)

This years away day is at Shifnal Golf Club, the notice has been posted on the Seniors noticeboard. The day consists of bacon rolls and coffee on arrival, 18 holes and a 2-course meal afterwards when the presentation will take place. Cost £40. Please support the Senior Captain and sign up for what is usually an excellent day.  

The Men's Mail on Sunday (Sun 14th Mar)

Worfield bowed out in the 2nd round of this years competition, losing 3-2 away to King's Norton. Wins for Phil Jones and Simon Rich, with losses for Roger Titley, Allan Coates and Richard Starkey. Congratulations to Kings Norton and good luck in the next round.  

Past Captain - Hole in One (Sun 7th Mar)

They come along like buses, congratulations to Bob Hamilton on his hole in one at the 3rd in today's Medal.

Lady Captain - Hole in One (Mon 1st Mar)

Beryl Baker, our new Lady Captain, celebrated her first week in style by hitting a hole in one in her first club competition since becoming Lady Captain. What a start to her year.

Captain's Drive-In (Sun 28th Feb)

All of the Captains would like to thank the members for their show of support at the Drive-in. there was a tremendous turnout despite the forecast of heavy rain and gales. Both of which failed to materialize. The results are posted on the competitions page.  

February Stableford

Not much luck with the Stablefords so far this year. Another dousing of snow and this month's competition was cancelled.
