Hi All,
After having some excellent weather the course is looking in great condition and the greens are receiving compliments from all Members & Visiting Clubs
During April Lady Captain & myself have run a couple of raffles & together with the Grand National & Masters Sweeps organised by Annie we have raised £410 for our charity so thanks to you all. The lucky winners were Rob Cowley for the Mothers Day Basket and Gary Tonks for the Easter Basket, which was kindly donated by Mel Holdnall, & Lady Captain having drawn Tiger Woods in the masters sweep. Many thanks to Anne for all her efforts.
I have represented the club in the Handicap league against Patshull. Unfortunately Myself and Will Weaver lost as did the team and also in a Friendly against Lilleshall which we won at home.
I have also played in a Senior’s Match against the Staffordshire. Seniors Captain Chris Tibbets and his Team made me very welcome. The Team had a good club win but unfortunately I lost again playing with Derek Wheatley.
The second friendly of the year took place at Telford on a very hot and sunny day. The course was in good condition, but it makes you realise how good our greens have been when you play other courses. Fortunately, me and the Vice-Captain won our game, but the team lost.
Congratulations to Phil Parker for wining the Directors Cup for the second year running with an excellent score of 40 points playing off a handicap of 6
